Evaporation- Water in the sea, or in river basins, is turned into water vapour (a gas) by solar radiation.

Condensation-When air rises up, it cools. The cooling can turn some of the water vapour back into water droplets. These form clouds

Precipitation- If water droplets become too heavy they fall, as rain, snow, hail, dew ETC

Run-off- Some of the precipitations runs off, over the surface. It forms rivers, which run into lakes or seas

A drainage basin is an extent or an area of land where surface water from rain and melting snow or ice converges to a single point, usually the exit of the basin, where the waters join another waterbody, such as a river, lake, reservoir, estuary, wetland, sea, or ocean.
