HOW IS A RIVER FORMED?
A river has three stages: upper, middle and lower. Rain falling in highland areas flows downwards to form a stream. This then travels downhill joining other streams. The point at which all the tributaries join the river is called a confluence.
Hope this picture helps you get an idea of how rivers are formed :)
Long Profile Of A River - it shows a river's gradient change as it flow from it source to its mouth.
What Is A Watershed? - A watershed is the area of land where all of the water that is under it or drains off of it goes into the same place.
EROSION- Erosion is the process by which soil and rock are removed from the Earth's surface by exogenesis processes such as wind or water flow, and then transported and deposited in other locations. There are 4 types of erosion, abrasion, attrition, hydraulic action and solution.
